Wild Wednesday:

“Crocodile Fish”

The crocodile fish is a fish that is the the family of garfish, and it is called the alligator-fish or crocodile-fish due to the resemblance to a crocodile. It originally comes from America, and they live between river plants.

There are a few types of them. Some possess black dots on their skin, some has longer ‘snouts’. Many people actually keep them for pets, and the ones that could be made as pets are the spotted Gar, Longnose Gar, Spotnose Gar and Alligator Gar.

The crocodile fish is a carnivore, eating little fishes, shrimp and crickets. It easily gets hungry, and cannot last for a few days when not fed, but if over fed, it can cause the fish to eat too much.
